I have a favorite jean jacket. This jacket has been with me for years and years.
You can imagine my heartbreak when I discovered holes appearing at the elbow.
I decided I wasn't ready to give up my jacket just yet. I knew I had to do something.
I started by measuring the length and width of the hole.
Next, I cut out a few little pink hearts. I had the fabric leftover from my first sewing venture. You can read about it at the Holly Homemaker post.
I cut out so many because I wanted to make sure I had the best heart.
I placed it over the hole - it seemed to fit well, so I set to work.
I pinned the heart in place.
Lastly, I hand stitched the heart in place.
The patch isn't quite centered on my elbow - but that's where the patch was needed. I think this would be cuter if it was perfectly centered - but overall it's a really cute and surprising touch.
I'm not 100% sold on this idea - so I need your opinions. Do you like it? Should I have done something different?
