I hope everyone enjoyed the Superbowl. I like to think of the Superbowl as National Chips and Dip day. I most definitely enjoyed some chips and dip while watching the Puppy Bowl with my sister, Sly.
To start our week off right, I'd like to share with you a really fun craft I put together over the weekend. I found this great idea on Pinterest. Honestly, where else have I been getting my inspiration lately?
P.S. If you're not on Pinterest yet and would like an invite - comment below with your email address and I'll invite you!
The idea is simple. I like simple ideas. Using sticks, hot glue them into the shape of a heart, and hang on the front door. I thought this would be perfect for February.
I stuffed a reusable grocery bag full of sticks from our backyard.
Please pay no attention to the spilled flour in the lower left corner of the photo. Oh shoot! I just made you look at it! Ugh. I spilled some flour earlier in the day. Surprised? I didn't think so.
Next I snapped the sticks into smaller pieces. I had no particular method. Wherever the stick wanted to break, is where it broke.
I then drew a heart in the size I wanted the 'heart wrearth' to be. Please note it took a few tries to get it right.
I used the outline as a guide for the frame. Next I got out the mini glue gun and started gluing the sticks together.
Next I grabbed the longer sticks and began gluing the sticks within the heart.
As soon as the first layer was complete, I began gluing more sticks in the opposite direction.
Oh hello Lonnie. What are you doing on the table?
GB thinks Lonnie needs to be in every photo.
(No Chihuahuas were harmed in the photographing of this project.)
When it was all dried I wrapped some twine around a sturdy section and hung it on our door.
