Glamorous, Glamorous Part 1

I am so proud of this project because this idea was not inspired by another blogger. Instead it came from a conversation between GB and I about what I envision for my 'get ready' room.

The spare bedroom in our home has been reserved for my clothes and shoes. When we're finished redecorating the room it will very glamorous. We call it my 'get ready' room. I need my own space to try on too many outfits and put on too much jewelry.

While I was at work one day, I got a text from GB. He told me he was going to work on the wall in my get ready room. Doing what with the wall, you ask? Read on, my friend.

First, he went in to the garage and picked out an old closet mirrored door that he had been hoarding, I mean saving for a future project.

Next he had too much fun breaking the mirror. When I asked if he has bad luck now, he said, "I believe in a lot of superstitions, but not that one." Glad he broke the mirror so I did not have to.

Next he mixed the mortar with water.

Then he spread the mortar around on the wall with a trowel. He did not take a before picture of the wall without the mortar. But I'm not complaining because it was so great of GB to start this project all on his own, without any pushing from me. He's the best.

Now the fun part. He began placing the broken pieces of mirror on the wall without following any sort of pattern.

This is the way it looks when you enter the 'get ready' room. It's glamorous already.

GB used a wet sponge to get any mortar off the mirrors.

Next, we wait for the mortar to dry and we finish up tomorrow. Don't forget to come back Thursday to see the final result.
