Welcome to Kiss My Smash

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Ashley, also known as Smash or Smashley.

Like many of you, I spend so much of my time reading my favorite blogs. I always get so excited about new projects that inspire me, or recipes that sound like heaven. However - when I've attempted to recreate these things in the past - they don't turn out as great as the well-intended author suggests. In fact, they turn out pretty crummy.
So I will be your guide - I will make the crafts first - so you don't have to - to find out if they are as easy they seem. Most likely I will screw it up, knock over some paint, and make a general mess of things. But I hope you stay with me on my journey of self-improvement, home-improvement and learning all the lessons that life has to throw at me.
Not the most unique photo - but I really do love red lipstick.

Before we get started you need to know the main players in this blog. Obviously I will need some help along the way. My side kick is GB, my sweet boyfriend. It is his home that I've moved into. GB was a bachelor for quite awhile so you can imagine the state that his home was in when I moved in. Little by little we are redecorating, redoing and renewing each room to make it 'our' home. (Or as he would like to say I'm making it the way I want it. Because what's wrong with a bathroom with no toilet paper holder? That's what the back of the toilet is for, right?)
He looks tough here - but it was my best option. In most pictures he makes wonky faces (which is reason # 567 why I love him.)
Next you should meet Lonnie - my 8 year old Chihuahua mix. We think he is mixed with a corgi, but he could be mixed with any strange, round, small animal. I adopted Lonnie when he was almost 2 and he must have had a terrible life before me. He shook non-stop and was terrified of people. Somewhere between now and then, I've shown him a ridiculous amount of love, probably gave him a few too many treats and helped him turn into the dog that he is today. He still shakes occasionally, but now he's best friends with Kane (see below), and loves to chase squirrels.

I love his google eyes.

Kane is GB's 6 year old Rottweiler. I wasn't too thrilled when I met Kane the first time. He's quite intimidating. But after 5 minutes with him, and almost being licked to death, I fell in love with him. He's basically a lap dog in a 120 pound muscle filled body. He loves to chase lasers and light shadows and bark at strangers.
Don't mind the unmade bed.

Coming soon - I embark upon this journey with a DIY craft involving paint sticks. See you then.
